Sports Girl Palettes

I have been experimenting more with make-up, lately and have been focusing on getting better with eyes and eye shadow as such. After countless tutorials I learnt many tips and thought I should go out and buy my first proper palette. Both of the palettes in the photo above are from sports girl (which I didn't even know made made make-up aha).

(Top) 'Eyes Like It Palette'

This was the first palette I bought after swatching a few of the shades onto my hand I thought it would be a decent palette to start practising with since they're is a variety of shades to experiment with.  This turned out to be a wonderful palette especially to begin with. The consistency of the shades makes it easy for the brush to pick up a lot of product. It goes on smoothly to the eyelid and most of the shades are very pigmented adding shimmer to brighten up your face. Personally I think the colours in this are great but I would of liked to have a couple more matte ones seeing as majority of them are shimmery. But for the price of $20 this is wonderful palette and is great for a beginner.

(Bottom) 'The Metallic Edit'

After using the other palette like crazy I was keen to try another by sports girl. As soon as I saw this palette full of amazing colours, I ran to the counter and purchased it without thinking twice. Between me and the palette, it was basically love at first sight. I have used this incredible palette a number of times, it never failing to disappoint me. One of the main things I adore about this palette is the shades. Im a massive fan of bronze shades which makes this the perfect palette for me. All these shades are highly pigmented and once again as the other palette, it applies very well and the product is easy to pick up on to brushes. For a price of $25 this is also an amazing palette!

Hey everybody, I hope you enjoyed this weeks post. Thank you for being patient, I've been finding it hard to find the time to post as school is busy. Also click 'here' and 'here' to see better quality photos of the products, I'm investing in a new camera soon to produce better photos. Anyway I hope you are all well and I will see you next week!

Update

The past couple of weeks have been very busy for me, mostly because of some exciting events that I attended. So I thought I would give you a little update and share my experiences. Enjoy!

Chet Faker

As I mentioned in a previous post, I decided to go to a Chet Faker concert since I love and appreciate his unique style of music. If you have not heard his music then I urge you to look it up and take a listen! The experience turned out to be amazing and such a special memory I will have forever. He is one extremely talented artist, his mellow music causing your body to sway with the crowd. The atmosphere is something I loved, everything from the lights to the crowd made the experience one I won't forget.

The day leading up to this extrodinary night was spent shopping in the wonderful city, Melbourne. I just thought I would share some pictures from that below.

Local Horse Races

Me and Zoe attended our local horse races which ended up being a blast. Everything about the day was great especially the perfect weather! The marquee tent we stayed in was full of delicious food which is a massive plus if your me. The day was full of excitement watching the horses race, many saves from almost falling over in our heels and catching up with friends.

This photo is of me (right) and Zoe (http://itszoee.blogspot.com.au, left). I have done a post on my outfit in this photo so click 'here' if your interested in reading it.

Thank you heaps for reading and sorry for not posting last week, as you can tell I have had a lot on and juggling school and work makes things even more busy. Anyway more exciting news is that I am seeing Casper and Joe (youtubers) this weekend so I will be sure to write a post on that! Anyway hope you all are well.

Festival Look

Soon I am attending a Chet Faker concert which I am most excited for. This is what I plan on wearing and personally I think this outfit would perfect for a festival or just a casual look for summer. It is comfy and glam in a unique way. Enjoy!

Dress
This dress is from Verge Girl online and is one of the staples in this outfit. It is off the shoulder style but can easily be worn on the shoulders. There is beautiful lace detailing on the top, bottom and sleeves of the dress. It is quite a flowy dress which is perfect for summer. I tend to wear a belt with this dress when its off the shoulder, but when I wear it on the shoulder I prefer it without one. I think you can dress this up or just use it as a chuck on kind of dress. I absolutely love this dress and have been receiving many complements when wearing it which means it must be good. Click 'here' if you are interested in purchasing it.

Fedora Hat
This hat is more on the pricey side but in my opinion totally worth it. Long story short, I found this hat in Melbourne, tried it on, fell in love with it, saw the price tag and put it back down and walked away. After convincing from my friends and knowing if I didn't buy it I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it, I quickly grabbed it and bought it haha. This hat is in fact a Brixton which is why it was probably so expensive, coming to a price of $100. This hat has got a stiff brim and a leather band for some added detail. Even though it is quite plane it still looks very nice on and sits well. This item is a fashionable way to protect yourself from the sun and will jazz up any outfit.

Sunglasses
As I have mentioned in the past, I love a good pair of sunnies and these were perfect to add to my collection. I found them in a little market for $20 which ended up being a complete bargain. They are circle style sunglasses, the lenses being black with copper around the edges. Unfortunately because these were from a market, I'm not sure where you can buy the exact ones. But if you see some similar then I definitely recommend them as they are a stylish touch to an outfit.

Classic Black Docs
These are probably my favourite shoes in my collection because they are just so godamn comfortable and stylish. I have already done a post going more in depth about these incredible shoes, so click 'here' if your interested in reading it.

Hey lovelies, sorry for not posting last week I've just been flat out with school starting back up. Hope you enjoyed this post and I will catch you next week!!

Nars Foundation - Review

Since I have been getting more into make-up, I have recently discovered this incredible foundation that is nothing like I've tried before. This is the Nars, sheer glow foundation in the shade deauville. This is hands down then best foundation I have used, and the quality of it amazes me. It applies on smoothly and doesn't have that caked on feeling like other foundations. My skin tends to be quite sensitive and spotty, but I find that one coat of this does the job of covering my blemishes while not damaging my skin. This foundation contains powerful antioxadents that help to nourish your skin, helping it look more radiant, and giving it a healthy glow. Even though this is sheer glow foundation I still find it to give a slight matte finish with some added shimmer. I have worn this luminous foundation on multiple nights out finding it holds extremely well. The only thing I wish this product had is a squirt top on the bottle instead of having to pour it out. I think Nars have got this formula spot on, resulting in a high quality foundation that definitely out weighs the one issue I had with the bottle. This foundation is one of the more pricier ones I have invested in, $65 dollars retail. If you are looking for a good quality foundation then I would recommend this one, the price is definitely worth it! Also one last important thing I would like to quickly mention is that Nars do not test on animals, which is one of my 'musts' when I'm looking to buy new make-up.

Hello everyone, hope you are al well! Let me know in the comments if you have tried this foundation, or any Nars products, and let me know what you thought! See you next week.

IT - Alexa Chung - Book Review

Lately, I have found myself glued to this unique book. I think even from the appealing cover of this book, you can tell its going to be a good read. I was right, in fact it was a great read. This book is not a story book that involves characters and plots, but is simply focused on Alexa Chung's life, sense of style, her inspirations, and small childhood stories. With her quirky doodles and photographs combined with her amazing writing, I found it being the perfect read. If your into fashion icons, such as Alexa Chung, and taking a look into there life and how they developed their individualized sense of style, then I definitely recommend this book. If not I'm sure you would enjoy this book, personally I think its hard not to. If your looking for a good book to read, then definitely give this book a try!

Hey everyone, I apologise for not posting last week as I was very busy with school. Now since it is the holidays I have been writing posts a lot so I'm ready when school goes back to not miss a week. Comment some good books to read, since I've devoured this one and need a new one to read. Hope your all well and I will see you next week!

How To Jazz Up Water

These days water is often taken for granted by many people when in reality we wouldn't be here without it. The recommended daily intake of water is approximately 2 litters and yet so many people fail to meet this amount (including myself). I think the main reason is because we are all so busy and just forget to. So today I thought I would share some easy ways you can make your water more appealing and yummy!

Detox Water

This is a very simple and may I say, an extremely easy way to give your water a slight burst of flavour while making your water look amazing. Basically what you do is fill your water bottle with cold water, then just chuck in your favourite fruits, and there you have it. My two favourite flavours I alternate between are lemon with a bit of lime and mixed berries.

Cordial

I know people try to avoid cordial knowing its full of sugar but my thoughts are its better to have cordial than not drink water at all. You can still get your daily intake of water just with some added sweetness to make you want to drink more. Also when I am choosing a cordial I tend to look for the ones with less sugar and more natural ingredients, thats why I love this brand of the cordial in the picture!

Tea

Lately I have been drinking so much tea, I think I could be addicted. I just absolutely love tea and I have so many different flavours I vary between each day. At the moment I have been loving peppermint tea with a squirt of honey to add some extra flavour. The reason tea is incredible is because it hydrates you while giving you a boost of antioxidants. There are many different types of tea so you can choose the best one that suits you. The brand of tea I use is T2 which literally has every tea flavour imaginable!

Thanks so much for reading! Please leave some suggestions of what posts you would like me to write. Hope you are all well.

Lush Haul

If you read my previous post you would know I went to Melbourne last week which was amazing! This week I decided to show you the products I purchased at Lush and give my opinion on each product. When I walked into the store it gave off a relaxed vibe filled with delicious scents. To be honest, I think I lost track of the time whilst I was in there delving into each product. I wanted to buy everything in the store because everything is so appealing, but because I was on a tight budget I couldn't, even though I wanted to. Anyway, here are the products I did happen to purchase, enjoy!

Oatfix face mask

This delicious product applied all over the face is sure to leave your skin feeling incredible. It has the consistency of poridge and the smell is to die for (not literally). When I first used this I found it easy to apply and because it has the sticky consistency of porridge, it does not slide of your face once put on. I left it on my face to dry for about 15 minutes and once I had removed it, my face felt clean and refreshed. This face mask focuses on sensitve skin by softening an and moisturising it. It has a blend of bananas, vanilla and oats to cool and and nourish your skin while also reducing redness. I have been using this mask on a daily bases and have found my skin feeling a whole lot better!

Honey Bee Bath Bomb

This fizzy bath bomb coats your water in soothing honey while making your bathroom smell delicious. As soon as I dropped it into the water, instant bubbles appeared at the surface and fizzes filled my ears leaving me very satisfied. Lush are famous for their incredible bath bombs and I can totally understand why. I absolutely love this bath bomb and I can't wait to try more Lush bath bombs soon.

Mint Lip Scrub

My friend (Zoe hah) told me about this unique product and from her description I was very eager to try it. Basically it is a scrub for your lips. You rub it into your lips then lick it off leaving the result as a tasty sugar lip butter. Once I had tried it, I loved it so much. I chose the flavour mint because when I lick it off it would give my breath a little burst of mint also. It also gave me that sort of tingling feeling in my lips and thats when you know you've found a good lip balm. I love the concept of this product and Lush have done a very good job at creating this.

Thank you so much for reading, hope you enjoyed it! Also click 'here' to be taken to the Lush website if you wanna look at some of there amazing products! I will catch you guys next week for another post and in the meantime you should comment below :)

Shopping In Melbourne

A few days ago me and Zoe (in the picture above) decided to treat ourselves and go on a little shopping trip to Melbourne. Melbourne is one of my favourite places, it has fantastic shopping centres as well as beautiful scenery.  So I thought it would be nice if I did a little blog post about it!

Shops We Visited

We were lucky and managed to visit every shop we planned to, even though we had to slightly rush between stores and we also got a bit lost at one point, hehe. It was nice to just browse through the stores and a lot of the time was spent by finding nice cloths, checking the price tag, and having to put down the item and walk away. I swear I have a shopping problem to be honest. Anyway some of my favourite stores we visited were: Zara, Myers, Glue, T2, The Body Shop, and Lush.

My Outfit

My outfit consisted of a beautiful, cosy jumper by the brand Element, my black jeans and black Doc Martens. To top off this outfit, I wore my lilac sunglasses from a previous blog post and my black hand bag I purchased from Glue a few weeks ago. I would also like to give photo cred to Zoe for taking these photos of me :)

Thank you so much for reading you groovy person! Be sure to stay tuned for next weeks post if your interested in finding out what I purchased at Lush. Please please please comment, I would love to talk to you all! Thank you again x

Bathroom Favourites

Over this month I have been using the products above on a daily bases and am absolutely crazy about them. These products never let me down therefore I think they deserve a post dedicated to them. Hope you enjoy it!

Frank Scrub

This is definitely my favourite product from the lot because it actually does all the things it claims to. This coffee scrub is absolutely incredible and I can not express how amazing this truly is. Basically what you do is rub the scrub in a circular motion onto your skin then leave it to dry, once you wash it off it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. Also to mention it gets rid of stretch marks, cellulite, blemishes, and evens the tone of your skin. This product works wonders and is at a very affordable price (click 'here' if your interested in purchasing). The ingredients in this scrub are all natural and it does not test on Animals which is amazing. I have no doubt that I will be using this for the rest of my life haha.

Chai Soap Bar

I purchased this little guy at a market not to long ago and is definitely a bar of joy. It is the scent Chai which is personally a scent I love! I have never been the biggest fan of soap bars because they always seem to slip from my hands and I find it easier to just use a squirt from a bottle of soap. Since I have been using this product it has changed the way I feel about bars of soap, now I have realised they aren't actually that bad and they look more presentable then a bottle of soap. Unfortunately I don't know where you can buy this exact soap bar but if you find a similar one anywhere (maybe lush) then I recommend it.

Coconut Moisturizer & Scrub

Coconut is a scent I have always loved so this product is definitely down my ally. I think the main reasons I love this product is because it smells incredible and makes my skin feel really good. The scrub deep cleans your skin in a delicate way leaving your skin clean and smooth. After I use the scrub I then use the body butter to give the finishing soft touch. Then vuala, you have soft clean skin that makes you smell awesome. Click 'here' to go to there website.

Thank you so much for reading you groovy person. Hope you enjoyed it and I would love to here from you down in the comments on what you thought. Hope you are feeling awesome!

Time For Yourself

These days with all the social media, friends and school to keep up with, it can be very hard to get time for yourself. Personally I think spending time with yourself is extremely important and many people seem to over look it. Lately I have been trying to spend more time with myself and I have found it to be very relaxing and is a great way to release stress. Also in the long run will improve your mental health. Here are some of my personally favourites to unwind and spend time with myself.

Have A Hot Bath
This is probably the most obvious option not to mention one of the most effective. A hot bath is incredibly relaxing and is a fantastic way to wash away the stresses of the day. Also, to make your bath even more relaxing, fill your bathroom with candles, use your favourite body wash, even play some relaxing music to add to the relaxing mood.

Yoga
A great way to improve your physical health as well as your mental, is to do yoga. It involves stretching, meditation and specific bodily postures and is widely practised for health and relaxation.

Read
Weather its a novel or magazine reading is one of my favourite ways to unwind, relax and even give myself some inspiration. Its amazing how books can just manage to take you to another world helping you distress without even realising it. At the moment I have been reading Alexa Chung's It (I have a book review post of it coming soon) and I can't seem to put it down. So I recommend for you to find a nice book or magazine that you enjoy, brew up some hot tea and just read for a couple hours.  I can guarantee you will feel relaxed in no time!

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you try any of these ideas! Also in the photo above the magazine in the picture is called Frankie, its very very good! Thanks heaps for reading and you should comment if your feeling groovy.

Homemade face mask

Banana & Avocado Face Mask

Out of the many face masks I have made over the years this is definitely my favourite let alone easiest to make. It has few ingredients that form together leaving your skin amazing and smooth from the touch to the feeling. The avocado and banana have strong vitamins and minerals that your skin benefits extremely well from. If you want to treat your skin then read ahead:

Ingredients:

- 1/4 an avocado
- 2 table spoons of greek yogurt
- Small handful of oats
- Squirt of lemon

(you may change the measurements of
your ingredients to your liking)

Method:
- Combine all of your ingredients in a
bowl then let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Apply the mixture all over your face.
- Leave the mask on for as long as needed
then was it off with luke warm water.
- An optional step is to put cucumbers
on your eyes freshen your eyes while your
face mask is on.

Love For Shoes

I guess its very safe to say that I have a shoe obsession. Therefore I decided to put together my top winter shoe collection.

1 ~ Classic Docs

Im sure you have all heard of doc martens and if you haven't, then its an honour to introduce you to these wonderful shoes. In the style black, these classic boots go with anything you wear. Leaving your feet surrounded with leather gauarantees to proctect your feet from the cold harsh air. Also with a comfy soul it supports your foot very well. The only downside to these is they take a bit longer to wear in than regular shoes, but with the amount of upsides, its definitely worth it in the end. I bought these shoes at the price of $130. Click 'here' to be taken to doc marten site and find a style that suits you.

2 ~ Nike Roshe

I just want to quickly address that these shoes are actually grey and for some reason the camera decided to give them a purple tinge that is actually not there haha (click 'here' to see a better photo). Anyway, I'm sure you would have seen this type of shoe before, its the roshe style shoe by nike. I love this style of shoe from the way it feels to the many designs to choose from. This unique shoe gives off a sporty vibe while jazzing up any outfit. The particular design I choose gave off a slight winter feel and was definetly my kind of style. Unfortunately I couldn't find this shoe on the nike website although I did happen to find it on ebay for the price of $130 (click 'here' if your interested). If you want to find a different design be sure to head over to the nike store 'here'

3 ~ Nike Air Max

Last but most certainly not least my most recent purchased shoe; Nike air max. At the moment these would have to be my favourite shoe from the lot, I know this is a rubbish photo (don't worry I'm going to invest in a new camera soon) so click 'here' to see a better photo and I'm your interested in purchasing them. This style of shoe also contains the sporty vibe and in this neutral colour it goes with every outfit. Obviously it being a sneaker style shoe it is very comfy and can easily be dressed up or down. These fell into my hands at the price of $90.

Thank you so much for reading, hope your having the grooviest day!

Winter Look

Seeing as its winter in Australia I thought it was very appropriate to do a winter look for you guys! So me and my friend Zoe (Check out her blog 'here') decided to do a little photo shoot :))

This outfit consist of my very loved black and white turtle neck from mink pink, my dark denim overalls from H&M, and to top it off with my classic black doc martens. You can already tell by the description of the outfit that its going to be very warm and comfortable. Two essentials every outfit needs during the cold winter. These three clothing items constantly seem to be in trend and I can totally understand why.

Turtle neck
This mink pink turtle neck is one of my winter essentials. It is definitely as comfy as it looks and provides the right amount of warmth. The neutral colours and simple design make it easy to pair in any outfit and it can be used casually or formally. I absolutely love turtle necks (especially this one in particular) and highly recommend them to anyone!

Overalls
These H&M overalls are definitely something I have been obsessing over lately. I just love how you can throw them on and they manage to jazz up any outfit. They are extremely comfortable and very warm as you can probably tell. I love these denim overalls in particular because of the slight rips, giving off a trendy carless look. The good thing about overalls is that you can get short style ones for summer there for you can wear overalls all year round. If you do not own a pair I definitely recommend them and to find a style that suits you!

Doc Martens
Finally, but most certainly not least, to complete this outfit are my doc martens. In the style black, these shoes are easy to pair with any outfit. As they are boots, they are very comfortable and the leather protects your feet from the cold air. I do have a post coming next week thats going more in depth about these shoes so be sure to check that out if your interested!

Hope you are all well and enjoyed reading this post. I put a lot of effort into this post and it would mean a lot if you commented. Also if you have any post suggestions please let me know!

Crompton

Hey Guys! I just wanted to share this amazing cafe I visited a few weeks ago named Crompton.

I was exploring the beautiful city of Melbourne and ran into this groovy place the appearance intriguing me. After convincing my family to eat there, we entered the interesting place, a positive vibe coming off immediately. Everything from the decor to the lively music made me already love this place and I hadn't even tried the food yet. Although this wasn't just your average cafe; It was a sandwich cafe. All these amazing toppings piled on top of crusty wholegrain bread resulted in the perfect lunch. It took me a while to pick what I wanted because everything seemed very appealing. In the end I decided to go for the hummus with cucumber and chilli flakes which was extremely scrumptious! This unique cafe has inspiered me to try an recreate there food which is delicious and very healthy!

Thanks heaps for reading, you should comment as well because I love to here from you guys. Also I have an exciting post this sunday so stay tuned for that. Thanks again and I hope your having a groovy day x

Current Beauty & Accesory Favourites

I guess its fair to say I have been wearing the absolute heck out of all the items above, so I thought I would share them with you all.

Sunglasses: I picked up these mink pink sunglasses last summer after seeing them through a window and falling in love with them instantly. Guess you could call it love at first sight. I have a secret love when it comes to sunglasses and these were the perfect choice to add to my collection. The frame being a lovely lilac colour and rose gold for the bridge, whats not to love. Also the lens have a slight tint of colour in them creating the illusion that your surroundings are pink. These sunnies are the perfect accessory to add a bit of colour into your outfits. These sunglasses ended up coming to $49.99 but lucky for you I managed to find them on sale for you. Click 'here' for 50% off.

Necklace: This long bubble style chain necklace presents itself elegantly in a casual form. To my opinion I believe its really up to you how you wear this incredibly unique item. It can be done so easily to dress up or down and truly seems like the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. This handcrafted necklace goes by the brand name "Little Bird Jewelry", and there are so many designs to choose from that can also be done in bracelet or earring form. Click 'here' to be taken to there website. This item ended up coming to $35.

Clinique Chubby Stick: This product would be my most used item from the photo. I absolutely adore this product from the shade to its texture. I think the main reason I love it is because its not as harsh as a lipstick but not as faint as a lip gloss. You can apply small amounts to give your lips a slight burst of colour, or you can apply coats on top of coats creating the same effect as lipstick. I love the way it feels on my lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth. The colour of my one is super strawberry (which I love) , there are so many colours to choose from. I got lucky with this item, receiving it in a gift bag but I do believe the price to buy one is $35. Click 'here' to be taken to the website.

Eye shadow: This four piece marbel pallet produces rich colour with intense metallic pigment and is very useful in the fact you can use it wet or dry. If your somewhat like me, and aren't very skilled when it comes to applying eyeshadow, this product comes very handy. One swipe over the eyelid is all you need to shimmer up your entire face. Because this pallet is marble the four selection of colours are mixed with more colours that complement each other. Therefor you can easily select one that goes with your outfit. I do very much enjoy wearing this product and I think my eyelids do to haha. That is why I'm very glad it fell into my hands at the mouth dropping price or $8.99. Click 'here' if your interested in purchasing this item.

Clinique Mascara: Last but certainly not least my beloved Clinique mascara. I would definitely not call myself the biggest mascara person in fact if you happen to bump into me somewhere theres a high chance I won't be wearing any. But on the occasion when I am this is always the one I reach for. You may see this mascara on the shelf in a store and not reach for it because the packaging doesn't stand out. As many people will say 'don't judge a book by its cover' and this term applies very well towards this mascara. The packaging may not stand out but I believe the quality of this mascara is extremely good. Obviously as I said before I do not wear a lot of mascara therefor I do not know exactly what consist of a good mascara. But when I apply this mascara it goes on easily and doesn't separate my eye lashes so there are spaces. I also notice it to be very long lasting and doesn't smudge easily. I have grown up using the Clinique products and know them to be good. I was also lucky with this item and received it in a gift bag, although the price to buy one is $38. Click 'here' to be taken to there mascara page (my one is the first one)

Thank you so much for reading this post! I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Just a reminder that good things come to those who comment :)

Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post. I wanted to start off my blog with a friendly introductory post to tell you a little bit about me and what you should expect to see on my blog.

About me:
My name is Isabelle but you can call me Izzy. I am 16 years young and live in an amazing place named Australia. A few years back I stumbled upon some fashion and beauty related blogs and had grown a large interest in reading them and dreamt of starting one myself. As I got older and delved deeper into my teenage years, I discovered I had I strong passion for fashion. (Im aware that sounds like the bratz commercial haha). My opinion is that you can express yourself through clothing items. My style of fashion is not whats in trend but purely what makes me happy to wear, regardless of what anybody else says. Quite recently I have also grown a liking towards beauty products. Now, I definitely would not name myself as a beauty guru but I do love to experiment and have fun with make-up, (I guess we all have to start somewhere). With all of my interests and passions moulded together forms this blog before you, which I hope you enjoy!

Expectations from my blog:
I guess I have made it quite clear that this is a fashion and beauty blog therefor most of my posts will be fashion and beauty related. Although I do not want to limit myself thats why I decided to also add lifestyle into my header. Please do expect the occasional post that does not go under the lines 'fashion and beauty', weather it be a thoughts post or a recipe to something. I haven't started this blog in hopes to get millions of readers and make a lot of money. I started this blog to do something I love and hopefully bring smiles to peoples faces. Also I am completely open to any suggestions or requests from anyone.

Thank you to those who read and comment on my posts, I will be posting every sunday and sometimes during the week. I hope you all enjoy this groovy little blog.

Love, Izzy
